A Ripple in Time Introductory
This is a public and future roleplay for the Fated of Faowind that depicts an alternation of the world when in the presence of an ancient rune and meeting counterparts.
The roleplay is rated T-R as there might be violence, sexual reference, drug use, and cussing. This is a warning to anyone who wishes to participate or will read through.
All rules of the forum apply to this roleplay. They can be found here In-roleplay rules will be displayed further down this post.
For more information of the roleplay or if you have questions, redirect yourself to the thread here.
Basics The Original Faowind's Timeline -Faowind is still in war.
-King Rayth had unveiled the modern creations that he found from the human world: monorails and lighthouses.
-The Hatter Squad has moved from the Great Library to the Tree Spirit Colony to join forces with the Children of Ikar. The Modern Faowind's Timeline -Faowind's war has ended.
-Majority of the resistance groups have now parted by the end of the war.
-There are still very few supporters of the Government still lurking about and targeting old members of the resistance groups.
-The City of Faowind has now return to tranquility but there is still trouble brewing. Guidelines - None of the counterparts have ever interacted with each other and thus, do not create a backstory of any of the counterparts and original characters interacting before the rediscovery of the Looking Glass.
- Make sure there are valid reasoning for why the counterpart may differ in some ways to the original. There shouldn't be complete opposites as the counterparts are in parallel universes.
- Neither characters (counterpart and original) should already be in their opposing parallel universes. There must not be an immediate jump of your character(s) from where they were.
- Ensure that all characters are in-character. Characters from Faowind (and not from the human world) should have difficultly with technology at most while counterparts should be puzzled at the medieval ways.
- Do not make extreme assumptions as to what may happen in the future. So, do not exclaim that Ikar is dead or that King Rayth is dead. There is no definite or plausible endings for characters and only their creator can (ie: Tangle will say whether or not her character(s) are dead.)
- Make sure to differentiate which character you're posting for! By any means /do/ make the differences obvious that way all confusion is avoided!
[/li][/ul] Plot Major points of the rolplay will be makred here such as several persons encountering the artifacts, entering the different world, meeting with counterparts, or other events devised by members. >> Chester Darwin and Erin Hadden have now entered the modern Faowind universe.
>>Nikolai Parker (modern) has encountered Chester Darwin and Erin Hadden.

Locations The modern world of Faowind and the changes in it will be contributed by the members! This will be updated regularly when there are new major locations revealed (ie : Underground Labyrinth, Great Library, Red District) with a mini description under it. Red Rose Asylum The retired Faowind Mental Institution (FMI) once harbored the craziest of the Faowind species (animal, human, elves, you name it!) and patients underwent multiple and medieval treatments such as lobotomies, illegal drug testing, leeching, surgeries without anesthetics, and much more. The FMI closed done nearly two hundred years ago until it came back known as the Red Rose Asylum. Upgraded but still cruel in practice, this serves as a chilling reminder of what the Government has done long ago. It was closed down after the war as the rebellion ensured that such malpractice was to never be seen again. --That was until the loyalists of the Government reopened it and began taking in their own patients.
Warehouse Yard: City Limits Countless pieces of history have been stored away in the warehouse for centuries, having taken over the forest of Faowind but the forest is still there, just scattered about. The warehouse yards can be split into three territories with one being in the Forest of Faowind (several miles away from the City of Faowind's entrance), one being held up high into the mountains with a long and complicated system of tunnels, and the other being hidden near Neverland but is underground and can be only accessed through the secret entryways located from either other warehouse yard.
The Warehouse Yard which has the Looking Glass is in the one near the city. The flora has taken its toll on the outside of the establishment, now surprisingly blending into the forest around it but never entering the inside. The Warehosue Yard is rarely visited and only those from within can open it or those entrusted with the keys from the City of Faowind.
Regulations >>There is no posting order for "A Ripple in Time." Instead, there will be a waiting time. After you post, you must wait for 3 other persons to post before you may do so again. NOTE: If you're by yourself whilst roleplaying, you can can post without the waiting time. *ONLY* if one of your characters isn't responding to another person or has no one to interact with.
>>There isn't a need to post for both of your characters (original and counterpart.) Don't be discouraged if no one is interacting with you, go off with getting about your character's daily life!
>> Please have fun and enjoy yourselves! Updates >> June 29th, 2013: A Ripple in Time is now open.

Distorted orbs of lights with radiant glows of yellow, orange, and silver illuminated in the mirror’s process of transportation, allowing the two persons inside to arrive to an unknown location of sorts. Their voices went silent as if time paused as the Looking Glass had shattered around them and allowed the two to enter the vortex within the mirror. Still, their bodies kept their forms and eyes gazed about but their bodies stayed still; they were statues paralyzed down below and retained their pose the moment Chester Darwin pulled his partner in and he touched the mirror. Both of the excavators were trapped within a whirling vortex of a variety of blues, taking turns and more turns, and all around it seemed the orbs had finally vanished, marking the start of exiting their own world. The mechanics of the Looking Glass was always in a way, bigger on the inside, as from outside the mirror, it seemed that only the travelers were sucked in. But, if the companion Looking Glass or the “Companion Glass” was placed in front of the mirror, the spectators would be able to see the works of the transition between worlds, only if it was working. Blue eyes darted along the terminal in which the Looking Glass has created but for only mere glimpses as the world around her blurred. There was a sudden thrust of power from behind that hurled the two individuals out from the Looking Glass and there, the assassin went flying through the mirror, right over Chester Darwin’s head. “Mr. Darwin, “a shout finally came out from her, words she was never able to speak from the other end of the mirror after he dragged her forcefully. Though, she finally felt the numbness around her body disappear as she slid across the cement floor with a sickening “thud” accompanying her landing. With her head buried against the cement, she was finally awake and conscious, with her red locks of hair all about as if she was a lunatic that finally escaped from an asylum. Jittering at the collision, she braced herself upwards with her elbows, feeling an ache forming at her forehead but her eyes were alive and moving, analyzing the area. Sitting herself up with an arched pose, she felt a part of her face dislocated due to the fall and her hands casually searched her face. Blood droplets seeped from her nose as she gripped onto the bridge to stop the flow. Her other hand’s palm knocked the nose back into place with a wicked cackle. Not once did she look back onto her partner that was lying on the ground behind her, as anger was brewing at the pits of her stomach. Hidden motivations of wanting to place him on the spot, reprimanding him for having tampered with the mirror and touching her without permission, were locked within as she kept watching around the area. If he ever did speak, his words would’ve gone through each either ear. The rigid concrete met her fingers as she brushed against it, registering the change of environment and how exactly different was it. The magic that spurred from her fingers the moment she had touched the Looking Glass caused it to activate, and this was where the magic had left them. Erin glanced at the ceiling, finding hanging light bulbs and the swaying of a dangling headlight above. There were red rectangular pillars that held up the area. Boxes were stacked, several foreign objects laying about, and large windows covered with vines provided just how unkempt the area was. If Chester were to call out to her, there was no success in her reacting. Even if she could, she wouldn’t bother as the fault of entering this other dimension was his. It all started as simply as a simple stroll in the forest of Faowind to return back to the City of Faowind for their own reasons but they’ve accompanied each other, nevertheless, they accompanied each other. Erin was simply hopping from tree root to tree root, covered with mud, blood, and the drug known as “emotions” as someone decided to would be hilarious to empty several over her head while she was decapitating an enemy’s head. There was the usual banter between the two, like the bet on when she’ll die or the poor smell that King Rayth had all over him, and the fact that Caterpillar placed together the worst of mankind together as a team. Though, Erin had returned to writing in her notebook and there was silence as it seemed Chester was talking to himself. He had looked over to her for several moments to see what caused the silence, and he had tripped. Erin had stopped, leaning over to see the fallen body, and shook her head with held back laughter. She casually stepped over him but turned to see what caused his fall. “What are you staring at,” a gruff voice questioned her as she knelt down next to body. “At what caused your trampling, Mr. Darwin,” she responded nonchalantly as she soon helped him up but began to pick away at a shiny object in the ground. After an hour or two of excavating (and already putting their schedules on hold), they have discovered the Looking Glass and the Companion Glass. At first, Erin was cleaning the looking Glass with the bottom of her skirt and accidently, her left hand tapped it and a spark flew. The mirror had soon sparked and spheres began to spiral around and she hesitantly was taken aback, not willing to explore what she had done. Though, Chester approached it and took her hand, “Ladies first.” And this is where they are now! Having risen slowly from the ground, she dusted off her skirt in a placid manner, still the noises around her having no effect on her. “Mr. Darwin,” she first said abruptly as she began to turn her head over to him. “Our location is of the unknown as we’ve transpired from that ancient relic to this undiscovered location.” Her pace began slowly as she went towards a window and calmly placed her handkerchief against it, cleaning away the dust. “Any regards as to where in Faowind we might’ve landed into?”
New Location Discovered: "The Crypts of Faowind" or "The Warehouse Yard"

⚜ Chess ⚜ “You could give me hell…You can give me death…Fire through my veins…I will fan the flames…Until my dying breath…” Somewhere between existence and the impossible remained two figures hurtling around in an encasement of a swirling vortex of light. An array of hues seemed to engulf the two bodies as the duo whirled around with bouts of frozen distilled images of what seemed to be time, when the duo seemed trapped in a frozen dimension of confusion and reality. Chester could feel his head spinning and his stomach knotting with a horrendous feeling consuming him as he seemed to convulse violently with the force of the vortex tossing him around like a rag doll. Clenching his eyes tightly shut he tried to contain a cry of startle and utter helplessness by clamping his hand across his mouth waiting for this horrific experience to end. To which it did, ever so violently and rather abruptly. With an overwhelming force urging the figures out of the vortex and what seemed to be a flash of light Chester Darwin opened his eyes just in time to be met by a concrete landing. Thwack. The slap of his body against the hard floor would cause anybody to cringe or wrinkle their nose. Chester tried to force his eyes open with all his might, his eyelids flickering open and shut as if they were malfunctioning shutters that couldn’t control themselves. Slowly the lights of his surroundings began to fade to black along with Miss Hadden’s voice which seemed to echo around him until: silence.
From the forceful impact of his landing Chester had blacked out, he had barely witnessed glimpses of Miss Hadden landing just as roughly as himself although she was sent flying through the air, whereas he was sent plummeting into the ground. Which surely by anyone’s guess should’ve caused a lot of damage possibly death from the force the duo had landed with. But no. They had come to this dimension of Faowind for a reason, whether they understood the implications of this visit was all but unknown at this point. But soon the threads had to unravel and lead them somewhere soon. Chester had no inclination as to how long he had been laying lifeless on the ground for as he slowly came round, flickering his eyelids until his vision started to return to normality. First he saw double of everything, then the echoing of every sound which seemed to be amplified. But one thing was certain was that Erin was alright though she may have some scrapes on her pale complexion, she was alive and that sent a slight rush of relief racing through his veins. Peeling his face up off the floor he slowly dragged his arms forward so that he could push his upper body upwards off the floor. Waggling his jaw around he felt a tight pain lunge through his nervous system causing him moan slightly, clasping his palm to his jaw tightly. After another hefty heave he had staggered to an upright stand, however the world was still spinning along with his head which caused him to feel extremely nauseated. Chester could barely make sense of what Miss Hadden was saying as her voice sounded like a muffled mesh of different pitches and sounds, he briefly stared at her with a puzzled look on his face as he held himself over his knees, bracing himself. Continuing to look at Miss Hadden his eyes widened, pupils dilating rapidly as he heaved, jerking his body forward out of reflex of what was to come as Chester vomited violently as a result of shock, motion sickness and partially fainting.
The gesture was unexpected and caused Chester to hold his stomach tightly as he felt sorry for Miss Hadden having to witness the event. Never had he felt so weak and vulnerable in his life for a long time but slowly sounds were beginning to separate into individual syllables and furthermore words. Words that began to make sense and bring reality back to the distressed Mr Darwin. “Wh-what? Wh-where a-are we?” His slurred stammering eventually made sense after a few attempts of trying to ask a simple question to Miss Hadden after missing her first statement. The world had stopped spinning although the surrounding views were not at all familiar in any shape or form. It was as if he was dreaming, never before had he felt so misplaced or odd than where he was right now. And although he hated to admit it, Chester was extremely thankful for Miss Hadden being his companion on this strange and quizzical journey into the unknown.

It never came to Niks’ mind that waking up to a bed full of men would be bothersome. That is when there was knocking at the door. The sorcerer got up, pushing the half-naked men up and off of the sleeping area hurriedly. He changed out of his sleepwear tiredly, rubbing face as he put on a clean pair of clothing. Slowly, he headed over to the door, listening as the knocks turned into excited scratches as the ones behind it tried to catch Nikolai’s attention. “Hold you tails!” He cried out, chuckling to himself. Oh, he definitely knew who was behind the door. Opening it, the two twin foxes barreled into the apartment happily, giggling and running about. Niks turned to see Frida standing there, turning white and hunched slightly. “I’m sorry to bother you, I know you were busy,” He shook his head, holding back a smile as he glanced towards the back door where the two men had left not too long ago. Niks joined the two bouncing twins on the couch, leaning back and watching them. Frida placed the book in her arms down, sliding it over to the sorcerer. With curiosity, he opened it, looking around. “What do you know about the Looking Glass?” She asked. The sorcerer looked up with a questioning gaze. He turned back towards the book, quickly skimming the words. Silence had fallen over them for a bit, only the sound of the giggling twins was heard as Niks scanned over the book. He shook his head. “Only the rumors and myths, how the fuck should I know?” That was really all there was anyways. No one even knew if it was true anyways. It was before the Red Queen’s time and only Ikar really knew. And even if he knew, the tiger god had been gone for so long, having vanished after the rebellion ended. No one knows where he is. The fox grabbed her daughter gently, sending the keys from her paws. “Do me a favor,” She started. The keys slid off her wrist, hitting the table with a jingle before Niks took them into his hand. He made no comment about how Frida trusted her daughter to hold these important keys. The sorcerer held them, looking at them curiously. “I need you to go to the Warehouse Yard and pick something up for me, a book,” He nodded slowly, not grasping what she wanted, but doing it anyways. Which was where he ended up now, standing outside of the Warehouse Yard. He had taken the train to the closest area and walked the rest of the way here, keys hanging off his neck. The sorcerer opened the door, struggling to pull it from the forest overgrowth that covered it, before stepping in. How the hell was he supposed to find a book in all of this, was Frida mad? He made his way deeper into the area, looking around. There was so much stuff in this place, it would take years to actually find what she wanted. Suddenly, the sound of crashing was heard and Niks made his way towards it, calling magic to his one hand. Moving closer, he saw the two figures on the floor, standing in front of some weird orb. “How the hell did you get in here?”
